Cape Point
Cape Point is the most South-Western point of Africa, with spectacular views of the ocean. Some 26 shipwrecks have been recorded at Cape Point, with some of them presenting good spots for diving. A funicular takes visitors on scenic trips to an old lighthouse and this spot is a bird’s watcher paradise.
The Cape Peninsula National Park encompasses the incredibly scenic peninsula mountain range that stretches from Signal Hill in the North to the Cape Point in the South. This narrow piece of land is surrounded with many beautiful valleys, bays and beaches – and is bound by the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean in the West and the Warm waters of False Bay in the East.
Cape Peninsula Nature Reserve is a 7700 hectare national park with breathtaking views. The area is home to over 200 species of bird, and over 1000 indigenous plant species. This area has great angling opportunities, with visitors being able to swim in the tidal pools, visit the old lighthouse and enjoy the restaurant and various curio shops.
